Privacy Policy

Website Checker for Framer (“Website Checker”, “we”) is a read-only checker for Framer websites. You use it through your own AI assistant, such as Claude. This policy explains what data we handle, why, and what stays with you.

The short version

  • Your Framer project stays in your own Framer connection. The check code runs inside it, and your project is never uploaded to us.
  • To sign in, we receive your Google account ID, email address and name. We use them for your account and your credits, nothing else.
  • Payments are handled by Polar, our merchant of record. We never see your card or bank details.
  • We don’t sell data, don’t run ads and don’t use tracking cookies.

What we process and why

Sign-in with Google. When you connect Website Checker, you sign in with Google. Google sends us your Google account ID, email address, name and whether your email is verified. We store them with your sign-in, so your assistant can use the connector without signing in again. Legal basis: providing the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Your account and credits. We create a customer record for you at Polar. It holds your email address, name and Google account ID, plus your credit balance and usage. It exists so we can give you your free credits, show your balance and let you buy more. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Running a check. The check code is sent to your assistant. Your assistant runs it with your own Framer connection, inside your Framer project. The code only reads your project and never changes, publishes or uploads anything. To turn the results into a report, your assistant sends the findings back to us. Findings include page paths, layer names and short text excerpts. We format them and return the report straight away. We do not store findings or reports.

Security and rate limits. To keep the service available, we count requests per IP address and per account for a short time window. Our hosting provider also processes connection data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

One necessary cookie. On the sign-in page, a cookie remembers that you approved the connection, so you aren’t asked again each time. It is needed for the sign-in to work and isn’t used for tracking.

Who else handles data

  • Cloudflare hosts the service and stores sign-in records.
  • Google handles the sign-in itself. Google’s privacy policy applies to your Google account.
  • Polar (Polar Software Inc.) is our merchant of record. When you buy credits, you buy them from Polar. Polar processes your payment, invoice and tax details under its own privacy policy and terms.
  • Your AI assistant, for example Anthropic’s Claude, sees the check code, the findings and the report, because it runs the check for you. Its provider’s privacy policy applies to that.

Some of these providers process data outside the EU, mainly in the USA. They do so under the safeguards the GDPR allows, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

We keep your sign-in and customer record while your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your sign-in data and your customer record at Polar. Records that tax law requires us or Polar to keep, such as invoices, are kept for the legal period.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, and for its correction, deletion, restriction or a copy (Art. 15–20 GDPR). You can object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR). Write to support@websitechecker.app.

You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one in your country or ours: the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW).

Changes

If we change how we handle data, we update this page and the date above.
